As its name shows openly, the region Heilbronn-Franken does not have much in common with the predominant impression generated by the name of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg with its dominant demographic element, the Suebian people. Here in the rural districts of Heilbronn, Hohenlohe, Main-Tauber and Schwäbisch-Hall the Franconian element is in the forefront – the region was part of the Duchy of Franconia in the Middle Ages.

Heilbronn-Franken is one of the most attractive for tourists in Germany, due to wonderful towns like Wertheim, Bad Mergentheim and Tauberbischofsheim with their well-conserved old town quarters situated along rivers like the Main, Tauber and Neckar, and framed by mountainous woodlands like the Odenwald and the Spessart.
