City of the seven steeples, salt, marzipan and the Holstentor.

Lübeck is a hanseatic town of long history and the second largest one in Schleswig - Holstein. The marvellous Old Town became part of UNESCO’s world cultural heritage in 1987. It was the first Old Town in Northern Europe to be announced surface monument, since it is of exemplary character for the urban development of the Baltic area. Lübeck played an important role for the research of medieval towns of the Baltic. Its preserved preindustrial buildings and special silhouette make Lübeck an attractive holiday destination.

Visit the City Hall, Castle Monastery and the Koberg, which presents a completely preserved town quarter of the late 13th century. The unique patrician's houses date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Seven striking church towers dominate Lübeck‘s cityscape: that of church Jakobi, church Marienkirche, Peter's church, church Aegidien, Katharinenkirche and the cathedral with two spires. Holstentor and the Emperor‘s gate on the embankments of Elbe Lübeck canal and the salt store house at the Trave shores are worth seeing.

Plunge into the past and enjoy this town – whether by eating the internationally known marzipan, tasty dishes of fish or simply by having a good cup of coffee in elegant ambience.
