Nature Reserve Harz
Lovers of Nature shouldn´t miss it

In the administrative district of Goslar and Osterode, in the south of Lower Saxony, lies the Nature Reserve Harz that was founded in 1960. Comprising a total of 790 square kilometres this nature reserve belongs to the south and southeast of Germany’s green belt.

A varied plant and animal life is characteristic for this region. Vast forests, partly agriculturally used high plateaus and romantic river valleys with waterfalls and reservoirs make the park a favoured attraction to lovers of nature. Wonderful hiking trails allow visitors to explore this huge park. The highest elevation is mountain Wurmberg with 971 m above sea level.
