Breisach at the Rhine

Breisach is situated at the Upper Rhine directly across the French border and fortress town of Neuf Brisach. The town‘s history goes back till the Neolithic Age. On the 40 metre high "mons brisiacus", also called Münsterberg, the Minster of Saint Stephanus with romanesque and gothic elements is centred in between houses of the Old Town. From the Minster square one has a marvellous view of the Rhine Valley up to the Black Forest and Vosges Mountains.

Use sport and leisure possibilities on the Rhine, like paddling, sailing or a sluice gatejourney on an excursion steamer. There is also a vast net of hiking and bicycling trails.
