Harz
Harz
Of witches and others...

Region Harz is known almost everywhere in Germany thanks to its famous mountain Brocken. Every year at the night of the last day of April Brocken turns into a place of witchcraft. From all over Germany witches come to Brocken for celebrating a glittering feast that has to end before sunrise. This celebration is called Walpurgis-night and marks the beginning of northern summer.

But region Harz has far more to offer. In winter you can do skiing, snow walking, snowboarding and tobogganing. Afterwards you can warm up at one of the thermal baths which offer warmth and relaxation. In summer the region lures with its marvellous hiking paths and affectionately renovated old half-timbered tiny towns like for instance Werningerode. Here you can find trails of 1000 years of history and mining culture. Just go and explore!
