Saarbrücken Region
Three countries to be visited at one place…

Quite naturally visitors of the region Saarbrücken will first of all look at the capital Saarbrücken with its Palace Square (Schloßplatz), the Ludwigs Square (Ludwigsplatz) and the market St. Johann (St. Johanner Markt) and the Stengelsche Stadtanlage.

But outside of Saarbrücken you will also find a lot of attractive places of interest to be visited, like for instance the UNESCO Bio Sphere Reserve Bliesgau with its traditional cultural landscape and its rich biological diversity, and on top the Saarland Therme situated right in the middle of it.

Boat tours on the rivers Saar, Moselle, or on the canals in France will fascinate you as well as visits to the Prehistoric Show Gondwana, the Saarschleife, Lake Bostalsee or the St. Wendel countryside.  The excavated Roman Villa Borg and the Mosaics of Nennig will help you make a time trip back into the era of the Romans. Castle Malbrouck not far from the border in France is the single 15th century castle of Lothringia which has been renovated totally.

Visitors of Saarbrücken should also plan a trip to Luxembourg; because Saarbrücken is one of the few places you can visit three European countries during a short trip, namely Germany, France and Luxembourg.
