Southern Wine Road
Southern Wine Road
Discover a diverse landscape

The administrative district of Southern Wine Road is located in the Rheine-Necker region of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate and counts approximately 109,000 inhabitants. Seat of administration is the city of Landau. Eight collective municipalities belong to the district of Southern Wine Road: Annweiler, Bad Bergzabern, Edenkoben, Herxheim, Landau country, Landau city, Maikammer and Offenbach.

Next to viniculture, tourism is the most important source of income in the region, which offers a tasteful and discouvering voyage through a diverse landscape.

Certificated hiking trails lead you through the Pfälzer woods, an open countryside with romantic brooks and softly curved vineyard hills. Picturesque small villages doing winegrowing have wonderful old half-timbered houses with most lovely vine taverns that beckon to stay and taste from a kitchen of great variety. Countless castles and sights can also be explored.
