The heart of Brandenburg’s economy offers high recreational value.

This region is the heart of the economy of Brandenburg – but Havelland and Fläming boast of a special recreational value as well.

The European highway axis E 30 connects this region with other industrial regions in Western Europe as well as emerging markets in Central and East Europe. Renowned international industrial enterprises, centres of technology, scientific institutions and research facilities as well as the future airport Berlin Brandenburg are located here.

World-renowned enterprises like Rolls Royce, MTU, Mercedes-Benz, eBay, Oracle, VW (design centre and logistics centre), Katjes, DHL, Fielmann and the famous film studios in Potsdam-Babelsberg are just a few examples.

The valley „Baruther Urspromtal“ with the lowland of Nuthe Notte is marked by wide marshlands and fens. Jüterbog-West has a big reserve and the last active wind created sand dune in Germany. The man-made landscape of the Potsdam Brandenburger Havelland is worth seeing.

The castle and mansion of Ribbeck which was in 1893 built in neobaroque style are worth a visit, too. This 2-storey double roof house in Nauen‘s part of town Ribbeck is said to be the house described in Theodor Fontane's poem „Mr. von Ribbeck at Ribbeck in Havelland“.

The Castle of Eisenhardt lies on hill Bricciusberg of the high Flämings at Bad Belzig. About 50 metres southwest of the castle is the small church St. Briccius, bordered by vast woodlands. Bad Belzig is an accredited thermal medicinal and sole medicinal resort with a wonderful historical city centre.
