In its north you find the Rupertiwinkel with its gentle hills and in its middle Bayerisch Gmain as well as Bad Reichenhall with its industrial monument, the old salt work. Further to the south there is Berchtesgaden and at 1.834 metre height the historical vantage point Kehlsteinhaus. In the very south is located the impressive lake Königssee and the landmark of Berchtesgadener Land, 2.712 metre high mount Watzmann.
