Blieskastel
Best preserved baroque ensemble in south-west Germany

How did baroque architecture find its way to Blieskastel? At the end of the 18th century the counts „von der Leyen“ resided in Blieskastel and improved the appearance of this small town with beautiful baroque architecture.

Today the whole Old Town is listed. Take a tour through the Old Town and visit Parade square, city hall, former civil servants‘ houses, Hercules fountain, Napoleon's wells and the orangery. Also church Schlosskirche and the pilgrimage monastery are worth a visit.

Blieskastel can be reached from A6 and A8. It is located central and close to Zweibrücken in wonderful scenery.
