In former times Saarlouis was characterized by its fortress. During recent years this fortress was unearthed and restored. Thus a large part of the old fortress can be visited today in the greenbelt recreation area of Saaraltarm and within the town.

Easter Market, Junk market, concerts or guided tours through town – in Saarlouis there is always something happening. It is a good place to experience a bit of the French-German way of life, too.
