Freinsheim
Freinsheim
Wine and late gothic features

The accredited tourist resort of Freinsheim is home to approximately 5,000 inhabitants and situated in the administrative district of Bad Dürkheim in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In AD 773 it was mentioned for the first time in records.

Embedded in vineyards and situated not far from the Southern Wine Road and the town of Bad Dürkheim, Freinsheim offers a historical Old Town which combines a baroque atmosphere with medieval romanticism.

About 1.3 km long is the late gothic town wall with pile works and gates, which is almost still complete and thus unique of its kind in the Palatinate.

Freinsheim is not only a small town with and leisure possibilities and many places of interest, but also a gorgeous place to party. It features unique events like a town wall party, a culinary wine hiking trail and the red wine hike, which starts with a torch hike.
