Deserves to get discovered

The city of Edenkoben is an accredited aerial health resort with approx. 7,000 inhabitants. It is situated in the administrative district of Southern Wine Road in the south of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The town has a considerable cultivation and trade of wine as it is one of the biggest wine-growing municipalities in Germany. Edenkoben is bordering the east part of the Pfälzer woods and crossed by the romantic German Wine Route.

Wineyards and winepresses

Edenkoben‘s pretty city centre impresses with winegrowing farms and winepress houses along streets framed by grapes. In this mild climate even some exotic fruits do grow as for example figs and kiwis. Numerous wine taverns, country inns and restaurants promise comfortable hospitality and offer excellent regional as well as international kitchen.

Leisure time, sports and holidays – all this is possible at Edenkoben. Whether you do a tour on one of the hiking trails that lead through the Pfälzer woods or vineyards, visit one of the museums or just rest on a park-bench, Edenkoben and its countryside offer much that can be explored.

A fantastic view

Especially recommended is a visit to the peace monument in the Pfälzer woods from where you have an outstanding view. Since the monument was constructed in 1899 it majestically thrones far above Edenkoben in the woods. You can even take a rest there at the nearby forest restaurant and enjoy a delicious piece of cakes or a decent meal before you start your way back.
