French Charm

The individual municipality of Fischbach bei Dahn has around 1,600 inhabitants and is located in the county of Südwestpfalz in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is an accredited resort. Situated in a subsidence, an extensive floodplain of Saalbach, Fischbach is close both to the town of Dahn and the French border. The town is centred in approximately 400m high mountains, but the highest mountains in direct vicinity are mountain Eyberg (514 m) and the Maimont (512 m) which is located on French ground.

The small municipality with its nicely designed houses has a lot of French flair. Fischbach offers culinary delights of the region as well as international kitchen.

French Flair near the border

With its border crossing hiking and cycling trails, Fischbach is a paradise for both hikers and cyclists. Furthermore, it offers a great natural landscape in the midst of the biosphere reserve Rhineland woods/Nordvogesen.

Biosphere House

An absolute "must" is a visit to the biosphere house that is situated in the northeast of the town. It is a natural experience centre with different adventure trails as well as a 270-m-long and up to 35-m-high „treetop trail“ which leads your through boughs of regional deciduous trees and conifers. 

Fischbach itself is almost excludingly residential municipality which does some tourism. The biggest employer in the town is the biosphere house.
