The Pied Piper of Hamelin – a tale known world-wide

Do you know the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin who is said to have lured more than 100 children out of town with his flute upon which they have never been seen again? This event, the revenge of the pied piper, keeps its mystery since 1284.

A tour through the Old Town will take you to the Pied Piper’s House where an inscription dating back to the year 1602 reminds of these children having disappeared. But Hamelin has much more to offer, and its Old Town has earned its name „Jewel of the Weser Renaissance“ well.

Nice street cafés invite to stay and if you want to do something special in summer, you can visit the Pied Piper Open Air Festival and watch the musical.
