Bad Doberan
Pearl of Germany´s Brickstone Gothic

Bad Doberan is a town in the administrative district of Rostock and lies at the German Baltic Sea.

Doberan Minster is probably the nicest building of this town and not without reason called „pearl of Germany‘s Brickstone Gothic“. A guided city tour through the minster supplies you with much interesting information. Fridays it enchants you with concerts, but only in summer. In the district of Heiligendamm directly at the seacoast stand many classicistic buildings worth seeing. In 1879 the town was granted the name „Bad“ Doberan. Today it is an accredited medicinal health resort.

However, not only spa guests visit Bad Doberan. Tourists from all over the world enjoy being in this modern provincial town that embraces guests with traditional friendliness.

The Kamp, a park resembling English gardens, is a wonderful place to breath fresh air with many oak trees, lime trees and chestnut trees. But the trees are not the only reason for a stroll through the park to be a relaxing enjoyment. Also witnesses of former times, like the red and the white pavilions, make this park special.

The seaside resort Heiligendamm has always been Germany’s most elegant seaside resort. After these historical buildings had been renovated in the beginning of the century, the seaside resort has gone through a revival. In 2007 the summit of G8 countries took place here.
