Sellin
Sellin
The "Amber City"

Sellin is a Baltic resort on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The town lies on the connection to peninsula Mönchgut at Lake Sellin.

The historical town centre was redeveloped during the past years. But also the historical villas in Wilhelmstrasse are worth seeing. From here you can use the somewhat steep stairs leading down to the Promenade at South Beach. Don’t miss the Pier Sellin which, with its 394 metres, is the longest pier on Rügen. You can pamper yourself in a comfortable restaurant or on the Diving Gondola which submerges you into the underwater world.

However, plan some time for visiting the Amber Museum. The museum does not only inform about history and procession of amber production but also offers the opportunity of attending workshops.

Animal lovers will be pleased to hear that Sellin has a Dog Beach, where happy paws and their owners can swim together.
