Bad Arolsen
In Bad Arolsen, culture, health and nature all go together!

The spa town of Bad Arolsen is located in Hesse, around 45 km to the west of Kassel in the “Waldecker Land”, a holiday region rich in forests and water.

The residential palace, where Queen Emma of the Netherlands (1858 - 1934) was born, is considered the symbol of this Baroque town. Concerts, exhibitions, as well as the Bad Arolsen Baroque Festival (14th to 18th of June 2017), which is also well known beyond the region take place in the historical setting of the palace.

Other highlights are the Bad Arolsen country fair and livestock market, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, as well as many sporting events, such as the International Twistesee Triathlon.

Bad Arolsen may also be described as a health resort. The Schlossbrunnen („Palace Fountain”) is used for medicinal water cures, for example for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.Three special clinics, a hospital and a (holiday) dialysis centre are located in the town.

The Arobella leisure pool with its generously landscaped sauna and health centre and the new beauty and wellness lagoon at the Bad Arolsen Welcome Hotel, among others, offer wellness and relaxation.

You can also discover many different sporting activities, to press sports: swimming at the Twistesee beach complex or in one of the town’s three swimming pools. You can also fish, play golf on the nine-hole Twistesee lake golf course, ride horses, play tennis or even fly.

The Three-Lakes-Hike (with luggage transfer) takes guests on a five-stage sightseeing tour via the Twistesee, Edersee and Diemelsee lakes.
