Especially offering nature and manifold activities this town is a popular place for overnight stays and starting point of vacationers. The town‘s park and zoo for native animals (Heimattiergarten) are as exciting as are the swimming paradise „schwapp“  and a big ceramic workshop.

Moreover, Furstenwalde is known for being a place where various bicycle trails meet, like the Spree Trail, Tour Brandenburg and Oderbruch Trail. But you can also do wonderful excursions to the lakes Oder-Spree. A very good traffic connecting to Berlin and Frankfurt at Oder make Furstenwalde easily accessible.
