Enjoy a glass of wine on the castle’s terrace

Built in the 11th century, the castle thrones on a rock of 400 metre height above the winegrowing village Durbach. The castle was first in possession of the Zähringer and passed in 13th century into hands of the Staufenberger. During the Thirty Years War it has seen considerable damages and was looted in 1689 by French marauders.

Since 1693 it belongs to margrave von Baden and is used for margravial wine production. Enjoy a glass of wine on the castle’s terrace while being enchanted by most beautiful scenery.
