Castle ruin of Zavelstein in perfect surroundings

When heading towards the district of Teinach Zavelstein in the administrative district of Calw you will see already from far away the castle ruin of Zavelstein. The castle was built during the 13th century and destroyed in 1692 by the French. When walking to the castle ruin one crosses the picturesque small town of Teinach. The castle court impresses by sculptures that were made by artists using power saws and that are displaying details about life during those days. The 30 metre high tower’s staircase can be climbed to have a miraculous view of the medieval town, Teinach valley and surroundings.
