Art, culture and a bland climate - the Saxonia Elbeland

Culture, wine-growing and a world-famous porcelain production offer relaxation and welcome change to visitors of the Elbland. The riverside area of the Elbe is characterized by vineyards and baroque. Here are lots to be discovered.

Some you should not miss: 1000-year-old city of Meissen has a porcelain manufactory of international fame. Torgau is said to be one of Germany’s nicest Renaissance towns. Radebeul is where you can visit the Karl May Museum and get to know life and work of this world-famous author. And of course there is Dresden – a town whose significant history you can explore for days.

The Elbe Bicycle Trail is a favoured trail. It takes you along the riverside through natural scenery on comfortably long distances paths. Finally, the Saxon Wine Road is a welcome change where you can see the very old tradition of wine-growing.
